An Introduction

So, it's here that I plan to keep notes on my apprenticeship at whole circle farm this summer. Whole Circle is a mixed farm of veg, grain, cows, pigs, hens, maybe turkeys. I know of it through Jeff, Leslie, and Ali whom I met when I volunteered for a couple months at Everdale Farm in the summer of 2004. They run the garden, CSA, and markets for the farm, whilst Maggie and Johann, who started the farm, take care of the livestock and house the other apprentices (of which there are three others this year... or maybe four?). Anyhow, I'll explain more about all of this as time goes on.

I start there in the first week of April. I likely won't be posting much until then, but once I'm there I'd like to use this space to give a feel for the day to day life and activities on the farm. Why? So that friends and family and farmy types in other parts of the world can follow along, and so that I have a way to actively reflect on it all. Plus, if you're lucky, maybe I'll work in thoughts on how topics in farming and computer science are related.
